INHACA:
a stunning oasis on the East African coast

••• WEEK 1 •••
We dance and relax on the subtropical island, Inhaca

The first week we spend on the sub-tropical island Inhaca, a beautiful paradise island just 2 hours away from Maputo with boat. Inhaca is an important marine research centre, known in particular for its offshore coral reefs. The classes will be held by talented professional dancers & musicians and we dance both on the beach and in the local dance company's dance space.

In between the classes we enjoy the peaceful island life, relax, interact with locals, explore the beaches and the fauna and visit "Ilha dos Portugueses" famous for under water divining and coral reefs. We live comfortably in smaller shared lodges with shower/bathroom, close to the beach.
We will have a local cook from the Island preparing Mozambican meals for us throughout the first week. It is on this beautiful island that we celebrate new years together by initiating our stay on the island with a Ngalanga party.

During this week we will offer excursions for anyone that wants to join for a smaller fee to cover the guide and/or driver or any entrances. Read more below about the excursions we offer during the week.

We take a beautiful boat trip along Inhacas coast until we reach Santa Maria south of Inhaca. Quiet beautiful beaches with crystal clear water ideal for snorkling. Here we spend the day together enjoying this wonderful place.

Excursion: FAROL

A car takes us to the northern tip of the island, a ride that allows us to enjoy the inner scenaries and nature of the Island. Final destination is the Farol (light house) which offers an amazing view over the surrounding islands. We also make a stop at the Farol beach with it's lively waters as a contrast to Santa Maria.

Excursion: PORTUGUESE ISLAND

In front of Inhaca you find uninhabited Portuguese Island, a beautiful white patch of sand surrounded by clear waters. When waters are low you can walk over but we cross with boat. Here we spend a couple of hours and have a full dance class in the beach.
(no additional fee for this trip)
